A Year at The Hours | Jordan Parks Photography

I’ve been sharing my work on Flickr since 2008. Over the years, I’ve become friends with a great group of photographers. We are scattered across the globe…Boston, London, Arkansas, Australia, Ireland, California. We thought it would be fun to start a collaborative project (photographers looooove projects). After some facebook brainstorming (and maybe a little wine), The Hours was born.

The concept was simple: take one image during a certain hour every month for a year. 12 months, 12 Hours. We started the clock in January at 7am and documented the year as the clock came all the way around to 6 pm. It’s been interesting to see the similarities in our images…the quiet in the morning images. The golden light in the evening. The fun of the summer. Looking back at my Hours, I notice those quiet morning moments, the Hours spent with my youngest boy, the fun we had in the summer, the warmth of the fall. I’m excited to continue this project in 2015. We are saying goodbye to some of our contributors and welcoming some new ones.

So here it is. My year at The Hours.
